Ballyboy Airfield Wins at the Aviation Industry Awards 2024​​

 

05 December 2024 - Ballyboy Airfield is delighted to announce that it has won the category of General and Sport Aviation at the Aviation Industry Awards 2024. The award ceremony took place on December 5th at the Crowne Plaza in Santry, Dublin.

Launched in 2014, the Aviation Industry Awards are the benchmark for excellence for those demonstrating best practice and innovation in the aviation sector in Ireland. Nominees represent airlines, airports, aviation suppliers and other players in the industry who have excelled in helping to grow and serve the aviation sector.

The Aviation Industry Awards encourage aviation organisations and individuals to constantly raise the bar, to innovate and maintain their commitment to achieving excellence.

Ballyboy Airfield was nominated in the 'General and Sport Aviation' category in light of its active role serving general aviation in Ireland and beyond. The airfield has raised over €70,000 in recent years for Down Syndrome Ireland through flying events. This award reflects the position Ballyboy holds within general aviation in Ireland in supporting and encouraging Irish aviation, its focus on the preservation and restoration of historic and vintage aircraft and its active role as a responsible part of the local community.
